The Role:

As a Project Engineer specialist you will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager with the daily management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of the project(s) to meet time and cost objectives with respect to contracting, scheduling, submittals, and contract administration functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager with the overall plan for construction of the project.
  • Assist with preparing the job start-up and close-out checklists.
  • Maintain Mission Control updates for submittals, contracts, insurances, and material tracking.
  • Prepare, expedite, and monitor logs for tracking shop drawings, contract documents, submittals, request for information, change orders, material delivery logs and other logs as determined necessary for a successful project.
  • With the Superintendents and PMs, monitor and expedite the delivery of materials.
  • Possess working knowledge of all project plans, specifications, and contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, shop drawings, submittals, and all other project related documents.
  • Keep the Project Manager fully informed in a timely fashion with regard to any and all problem areas on the project.
  • Maintain good relationships with the owner, architect, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, municipal authorities and company personnel involved with the project.
  • Actively participate and/or lead post-bid, buyout, coordination, lead team, subcontractor, scheduling and other meetings.
  • Prepare meeting minutes/packets as directed by Project Manager.
  • Help maintain and Track Project Closeout Activities with Project Support Admin.

Experience:

  • Construction background is highly recommended.
  • Experience in scheduling software and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge in Procore Construction Management Software is a plus
  • Strong typing skills are highly recommended
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform in areas: client relationship, interpersonal skills, computer skills, safety/insurance, ability to communicate; both written and oral.
  • Ability to read/Interpret Blueprints and Specifications is preferred
